Did you know that Steve Jobs was adopted? That was a bit of trivia Larry and I picked up at the March for Life 2017 Expo and Rally last week as an example of how one life matters. Think about how often we use our iPhones. The world is glad his birth mother chose adoption instead of abortion.
Here are a few photos I captured with my iPhone. I wish I had taken more of the people I met and of the smiling youth. Their enthusiasm was contagious.
Larry and I manned a book table and met people who’d traveled from all over our great country. They drove, flew, and rode on buses. Many slept on floors and air mattresses to support the life of the unborn and women.
I learned well over half of the women who have abortions say they were coerced to abort the babies they wanted to keep. One woman shed tears when she told me about the abortion she had three decades ago. Even though she has a wonderful family now, and even though she knows God has forgiven her, she still grieves.
Science is finally catching up with the Bible in showing the life in a pregnant woman is a separate person with the ability to feel pain and recognize voices. I saw a beautiful young woman who miraculously survived the abortion her birth mother had when she was pregnant with her.
John the Baptist leaped in his mother’s womb for joy when he heard Mary’s voice (Luke 1:44). Jacob and Esau struggled with each other in Rebekah’s womb (Gen. 25:21-23). God still has a purpose for each child just as He did for Jeremiah (Jer. 1:5). Share on X
Susan B. Anthony, heralded by feminists for working to give women the right to vote, saw abortion as the ultimate exploitation of women. Being pro-life is being pro-woman.
One of the chants from the weekend was “We are the pro-life generation!” How encouraging to see a new generation of young people who want to protect mother and child and see the rights of the unborn as a social justice issue.

Debbie, if the Lord tarries & we’re able, maybe we can get
a group to go next year. Thanks for sharing & speaking the truth in
love. Continue to fight the good fight. Marilyn C.
That would be fun to march with a group of friends! It is a great experience. I met so many wonderful people.
Thank you
Thank you, Nancy!
How wonderful and encouraging to see this change in attitude toward abortion! Andrew Wommack did an entire week of shows a few weeks ago on abortion and had 2 women who survived abortions. It was truly powerful to see.
Ann, I’m sure that was powerful. I used to counsel with women who’d had abortions. It left an emotional scar. A woman who spoke to a group I attended one time said that many women who have abortions go out and get pregnant again to replace the child they lost. So sad.
Such wonderful and encouraging news! Thank you!
It was encouraging to be there. Thanks, Stephanie.
Great photos, thanks for sharing. I totally did not know that about Steve Jobs.
Me either, Heather. Great illustration of the power of one.
Love these pics and the great tidbits you shared! It was such a great day and response! Mike Pence’s address was outstanding! I listened on the day of the march.
Wasn’t that awesome, Pam? And I loved hearing the Pence’s wasn’t their first March for life.
So cool to see you behind your book table, Debbie! You go, girl! And I’ve always been a staunch pro-life supporter. I too am so glad for the science that is supporting what many of us have instinctively known all along. I know that there are women who face life-altering and excruciating circumstances for carrying their pregnancy to term until that baby can be adopted. I don’t want to minimize their plight, but I certainly also want to speak for the unborn child’s right to life. It’s not just a difficulty that such a child is up against–it’s a life and death battle that is being determined for them. I just wish people would understand that instead of viewing the child as some blob of tissue until it is born and “magically” becomes a human being. I can’t believe there are still people who view it that way, but delusion and denial run rampant when we leave God and that child out of the equation.
I know, Beth. I think there would be more outrage if we did to puppies and kittens what we do to human babies. Fear and blindness. These women are told it will erase their worries, but it never works that way. Great to have you share your thoughts.
Your pictures make me feel as if I was right there with you! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Michele.
Thank you for sharing your photos. My daughter’s family had the opportunity to go also. It was such a wonderful experience for the children. Blessing to you this beautiful day. Visiting from Thoughtful Thursday.
I saw several children and babies, Deborah. Maybe I saw your family! That is wonderful. I wish I’d taken mine when they were young.
I love this! Thank-you so much for sharing and for marching for the unborn.
Thank you, Brooke.
What a beautiful post, Debbie!! I can only imagine the energy at such a precious event. Thank you for sharing <3
Visiting you here at Heart Encouragement Thursday 🙂
Mandy, it was great. I highly recommend joining sometime.
Such an incredible time and great cause. I really enjoyed reading about all you learned and saw at the march.
Thank you, Mary. So great to hear from you!
Thanks for sharing the photos and your experience at the March for Life. I am also encouraged by the young people that are making their voices heard in support of
all lives. I wonder if you saw some of the group, Women Speak for Themselves?

Carol, that looks like a special group of women. I don’t know if I talked with any of them. There were a lot of people there. That heartened me so much.
Such a wonderful event! Glad you were there. Thank you for marching for the unborn!
Thank you, Kathleen!
