BIO

Debbie W. Wilson is an award-winning author, Bible teacher, and former Christian counselor who helps women find victory in their battles. Not only do we live in a world of chaos, but some of us also carry the burden of being hard on ourselves. Debbie writes and speaks to help women-especially overachievers-give themselves a break and experience spiritual rest in their personal lives and relationships and with God. Her books include Give Yourself a Break; Little Women, Big God; Little Faith, Big God; and Little Strength, Big God.

She and her husband Larry co-founded and lead Lighthouse Ministries, a non-profit Christian counseling and Bible teaching ministry. Despite time in Boston, the Midwest, and Southern California, Debbie still says y’all. Her family, which includes two grown children and two mischievous standard poodles, calls North Carolina home. PROFESSIONAL BRIEF

After working with youth and twenty-four years as a biblical counselor, Debbie began putting her insights into books to help people experience God in their challenges.

Debbie is certified as an AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association) writing and speaking coach, a member of AWSA, CAN (Christian Author’s Network), and Jerry Jenkins Writers Guild. Debbie completed Dan Miller’s 48 Days Facilitator Certification Program and the SCORE speakers training.

She received a B.S. in Nutrition from Georgia Southern University and served on the staff of the high school ministry (Student Venture) of Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) in Boston, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City, and Orange County, California. While on staff with Cru, she earned a Certificate in Biblical Studies at The International School of Theology in San Bernardino, California.

After auditing Larry Crabb’s and Dan Allender’s counseling classes at Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana, she studied biblical counseling at Scope Ministries in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Debbie has enjoyed serving the local churches she was a part of through teaching and leadership. She and her husband Larry participated with Scope Ministries at Billy Graham’s conferences for itinerant evangelists, “Amsterdam ’86” and “Amsterdam 2000.” She also served on the steering committee for Anne Graham Lotz’s conference in Raleigh, “Just Give Me Jesus.”
