Are you confused by what you read and hear? We adjust our diets, opinions, and preferences based on so-called scientific research only to find we’ve been sold a bunch of subjective biases or political and commercial agendas. In an age of dis- and mis-information, we need some healthy skepticism. Is there anything we can know for sure?
Yes. the Bible supplies timeless truths we can count on. We don’t have to be tossed to and fro by the loudest voice. The Bible provides wisdom that shapes our souls and benefits us more than any popular diet or current trend.
At Biblestudytools.com I talk about “7 Things the Bible Says You Can Know for Sure.” Here are two I discuss to whet your appetite:

This is such an uplifting and encouraging reminder of what we know (and need to refresh ourselves about) and what an amazing God we serve! Thank you Debbie!
Ann, it was fun thinking about these. So many more we could add.
I especially loved your cake analogy- where
God takes things that would be bad by themselves and creates good from them.
Thanks, Kim.
Global warming vs. the Bible:
Genesis 8:22
“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And summer and winter,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
Alan, we recently discussed that in one of my Bible study groups! I might add, 2 Peter 3:11-12 talks about the global warming we need to know about.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Ann, I love that promise and count on it. Thanks so much for sharing it.
That His promises are yes and amen!
Yes! Love that, Susan!
SO many I could mention, but on my worst days, John 10:28-30 always springs forth from my heart. Knowing that as a child of God, an adopted heir to His kingdom from Whom I can never be separated again, brings me great peace and comfort. As long as I strive to maintain a right relationship with Him, I can stumble many times, but never fall. Loved this post, and your article ma’am. Sharing both.
J.D., I love that chapter about our good Shepherd and that no one can snatch us out of His hand. Hallelujah, what a savior!
Isaiah 26:3
What a promise in this chaotic world….
Jan, that is always a good one for me. Thanks for the reminder.
Debbie, wonderful insights and so encouraging. I love your message.
Visiting today from Let’s Have Coffee #19
Thank you, Paula. Isn’t it fun to think about what God’s Word says is true?
Such a refreshing article Debbie, one to hold onto when the lies of others speaker louder than God’s truth!
You say it well, Donna. God’s whispers are more powerful, and they are life-giving.
When the truth of God’s love really hit me, it opened my eyes to the truth of not being condemned. Jesus took the condemnation and guilt for us and even when we sin we are still forgiven. He doesn’t want us to wallow in guilt, just get up and live in forgiveness and grace. Knowing we are forgiven helps us live more holy.
Amen, Barbara! I think that is one of the most transformative truths we can know. And one our enemy doesn’t want us to experience.
Debbie, we so need to keep our focus on God’s Word, His promises, and His character. He is the anchor we need in these days of uncertainty, and change. This article was most encouraging and I thank you for the reminder!
Joanne, it is certainly more enjoyable to focus on God’s Word that all that is going on around us!
