Last week I shared my husband Larry’s personal crisis and how the Lord used a birth defect to save Larry’s life from an extremely large blood clot cluster. We both appreciate the prayers and kind thoughts you sent our way. He is feeling better and getting stronger.
Now for some more good news. I signed a contract with Leafwood Publishers for my fourth book with them.
This book is on forgiveness. My working title is Big Hurts, Bigger God: Busting myths and finding freedom through biblical forgiveness.
Titles matter, and I value your thoughts. What do you think of this title? Feel free to offer a suggestion or two. You can email me or leave a comment below.
Finding Love Podcast
Cynthia Simmons talked about love on her podcast during the month of February. But love isn’t just for Valentine’s Day. Are you single or have a single in your life wanting to find love that lasts a lifetime? Cynthia and I talked about what we can learn from biblical Ruth and what to look for in a spouse. You can listen here or read the transcript here.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21 NASB).
I hope to be back next week with a regular blog post. I appreciate your prayers as I work to finish my manuscript.

I love the title, “Big hurts, Bigger God.” Definitely sounds like I book I need to read. I like the “finding freedom through biblical forgiveness.” However, I don’t care for the phrase “busting myths.” Not sure why that doesn’t sit well with me, but the main title is fantastic! Can’t wait to read this book when it’s published. Congratulations!!
Thank you, Angie! I like that. Keeps it simple.
I agree well with Angie, about the main title is great, but the sub-title is too long or bulky. Maybe “finding freedom through Jesus” ?
OR just the main title! ?
So pleased that Larry is on the mend, hopefully back at the office some of the time soon. Give him our best.
Janet
Thanks, Janet. I appreciate your thoughts. And yes, Larry has started back part time. I’ll be sure and let him know you asked about him!
Congratulations on your new book! I think your title sounds fantastic! I will head over to the podcast – I so love the story of Ruth!
Thanks, Maryleigh. I love Ruth too.
I am so happy to hear Larry is recovering well and that you have your 4th book in the works! Congratulations Debbie!
Ann, we are grateful. Thanks so much!
Love the connection between all your book titles!
Thanks, Michele. Leafwood suggested connecting the titles. I hadn’t originally because this one is more Christian Living than Bible study. In a conversation with my sister over the book she said something about our big hurts but bigger God. I interrupted her and said, “I think you just gave me a title!”
Congratulations on the new contract, and I am glad Larry is better! Yes, love is for always, not just Valentine’s Day, thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Barbara. Blessings to you!
So excited about your new book, thankful for Larry’s healing, and I like “Big Hurts Bigger God”:)
Thank you, Stephanie. We are truly grateful.
Congratulations, Debbie! I’m celebrating your new book contract with you! I like the main title, Big Hurts, Bigger God. Wow! What a great title! However, I don’t care for the subtitle busting myths and would prefer the subtitle, Finding Freedom through Biblical Forgiveness or Finding Healing through Biblical Truths or something along those lines.
Lisa, I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks very much!
Congratulations Debbie. That is awesome news. May the Lord continue to bless you and give you His words to share.
Thank you so much, Yvonne!
Hi Debbie – I missed last week’s as we were out of town all week and I haven’t yet caught up on my e-mails. But I am thankful to hear Larry is recovering.
I love the title except for the “Busting Myths” part. I would leave it at Big Hurts, Bigger God: Finding freedom through biblical forgiveness.
