What’s the best way to help those in rough places? How do we show support and be in sync with God’s purpose? While each situation and person vary, I’ve found two qualities that promote wise help for all.
Personal Peace
Before Jesus sent the disciples out to rescue others, He gave them personal peace (Jn 20:19, 21). When I have a calm spirit, I’m not moved by pressure, guilt, or my own agenda. I’m able to respond to a dilemma with a sound mind (1 Jn 4:7-12, 19; Lk 10:33)
Proper Aim
The best assistance helps a person become better. Some are in tough places through no fault of their own. They may be honorable people. But our Father is in the process of making His family better (Rom 8:28-30).
